M.C. Cairns was born and raised in Northeast Tennessee. Her adventures in life have led her all over the United States, as well as Japan. She has spent many years either raising or teaching preteens and teens.

M.C. is the mother of six crazy girls. She and their father met in Japan while serving in the United States Marine Corps, where she worked for the base newspaper as reporter and assistant editor. She settled down with her family in Missouri after her and her husband completed their tours.

After spending many years growing her family, M.C. returned to school and obtained a degree in Middle School English Education.
